Team NSD is made up of just two people: Navdeep and Sona Dhillon. We are both avid photojournalists and self-proclaimed “Honeymoon Experts” having spent five months traveling through India with the goal of taking over the world one honeymoon at a time! We'd be more than happy to offer our suggestions on planning your romantic honeymoon or quick weekend getaway. Just ask. We don’t believe in the concept of a primary or secondary photographer. Sona and I both shoot and are equally essential ingredients in capturing the complete story of your day from two unique perspectives. Aside from the actual photography, Navdeep is in charge of all things technical such as major and minor photo-editing, creating promotional material and designing/updating this website. Sona is in charge of designing albums, adding elegant touches to the creation of slideshows and discussing our packages and services with you.

In tandem with wedding photography, we also pursue other passions. Navdeep teaches online for the Art Institutes and other colleges. He has spent two years teaching and traveling in China and holds an M.F.A. from California State University. Sona is a journalist whose work has been featured in some of the leading bridal and entertainment magazines in the country. Check out some of her articles in Modern Bride, People, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons among many other publications. She holds a Masters Degree from New York University.
 

Like most wedding photographers, we love photography. Unlike many, however, we want to keep it that way. We are very selective about the number of weddings we agree to do. You'll never find us fully booked four or more weekends in a row. Because we don't overbook ourselves, it won't take us a year to deliver your album or slideshow.

Having a set number of weddings we take on assures that we give you a personalized experience. We take the time to get to know you, your personal tastes, likes and dislikes through informal meetings, phone conversations, emails and pre-wedding shoots. So by the time your Big Day arrives, you’ll be comfortable in our skills as your photographers and we’ll know how to make both of you look like stars on the biggest day of your lives!

Our style is decidedly photojournalistic with touches of portraiture here and there to keep the parents happy. By the time your wedding takes place, we will have already met several times and possibly even had an engagement or pre-wedding shoot together. During the wedding, Sona focuses more on the details and in capturing candid moments from family members. While we both shoot discreetly when we can, Navdeep has no problem being up in your grill to get the images he knows will look fabulous in your album or slideshow.

We realize that a wedding is not just about artistic candid shots of the couple and their immediate family members. It’s also about gathering friends and extended family members who you haven’t seen in a while for posed shots.

Our approach to taking these family portraits is to blend our photojournalistic styles with good posing techniques. We create the environment where you’ll look good in front of the camera and let you relax for a bit, allowing for the possibility of “candid posed shots.” Yes, such a thing exists!
